As reported by The New York Post, Wired magazine is expected to offer its publisher job to former Say Media president Kim Kelleher. Condé Nast, owner of Wired, has not confirmed the offer, but sources say it’s forthcoming. Initial rumors had circulated that insider Drew Schutte, recently appointed publisher of Details, would snag the position.

Kelleher will fill the vacated role of former publisher Howard Mittman, who moved to GQ to replace Vanity Fair-bound Chris Mitchell. Condé execs hope this new placement will help revitalize Wired’s sagging ad sales, which have dropped more than 24.5 percent through September, per Media Industry Newsletter. Despite launching new digital channels, Condé’s publications still rely heavily on print for revenue generation.

Before her sixteen-month stint with Say Media, Kelleher was the first female publisher of Time Inc.’s Sports Illustrated and later the global publisher for Time. Prior to that, she was publisher of Condé’s Self.
